Its system with deep roots gives the opportunity to regenerate degraded land in an ecological way. Its roots allow the improvement of soil quality and the preservation of underground irrigation systems. It can be set for planting in any type of land, also in crude. Not recommended in mud terrain or clay that does not drain.
PAULOWNIAS clone is a new species created, the breed, proven and recognized internationally by all specialists of this sector, so it cannot be reproduced since after the micro-creation phase the plant will be hybridized, it is not an invasive species, therefore cannot be reproduced by seed, cutting and root. It is indifferent where it is grown in the world.
The CLONE SELECTED PAULOWNIA is a new species created. NO OGM
|The speed of growth
||Height||Diameter||Volume for skid
|Year 1||4 – 5 mt||8 – 10 cm|
|Year 2||10 – 12 mt||16 – 20 cm|
|Year 3||15 – 20 mt||24 – 30 cm||0,3 mc (min)|
|Year 6*||35 – 40 cm||0,5 mc (min)|
|Year 9*||45 – 60 cm||0,7 mc (min)|
* Measures 6 and 9 years are met if they are not made previous cuts.
After each cut three years the plant will grow from 25 to 30 cm in diameter
– Deep terrain drained minimum 2 m deep and may contain rocks and stones.
– Mix soil with rocks of small size.
– Soil mixed with sand; mixed with clay soil, no more than 20 % to 30%
– Ideal pH between 5.5 and 8 units
Non suitable land:
– Soil with stones or rocks on the surface or underground.
– Soil with clay more than 20%
– Soil no drainage and water basins.
– Soil bordering the salt ponds.
– Soil of salt.
– Soil where you cannot pass cars , machinery , tools.
– Soil not accessible for cutting and transport mean.
– Soil without irragation.
Irrigation ( for 1 ha ):
The plants should have a watering system about 1000 m3 per year depending on the types of soil and cultivation area. The data refer to areas with average rainfall is of 400-500 mm / year. It is necessary an irrigation system (advised with drops).
Fertilization ( about 1 ha ):
In the first year you can throw 0.250 UF of nitrogen fertilizer per plant. In the second year, the dose may be increased to 250 kg per ha ( depending on soil type )
Complex fertilizers ( per hectare ):
– 1st year of about 1.5 Quintal ;
– From the 2 ° to 2.5 Quintal ;
– From the 3 ° to 10 ° around 3.5 year Quintal .
Organic fertilizer ( per hectare ):
– 1st year of about 3 tons;
– 2nd year of about 4 tons ;
– From year 3 to 10 °; 5 tons.
It is recommended the establishment of seedlings at a distance of 4 m, which means 600 trees per ha. Death for flaws from the factory is estimated at about 1 % . If applied with precision planting procedures, in many plantations seedling death is virtually zero . After submitting the plants to be planted, shall be submitted 10 plants for each ha . Planting seedlings are about 10 weeks old. It is recommended planting during the period March – August in northern Italy ; March-October in the Centre / South of Italy and throughout the year in major islands .
PAULOWNIA-IT srl has tested the soil and the environment in different regions of Italy, by skilled technicians instructed to follow the process from planting to the successive cuttings . In cultivation of clone TO PAULOWNIA required a first cutting of the tree when it has reached 6-8cm , during the winter . This operation called ” technical cutting ” allows the growth and development of the trunk , making it grow perfectly straight for about 6 m . It promotes the production of type A wood, without veins, no knots and no defects. General cutting can begin after three years of cutting technique.
This tree has a very important role in the supply of raw wood in the furniture industry, as fuel and in many other sectors. A careful study of the market, has revealed an increase in demand for wood generally during the decade 2000-2010. For this reason , with absolute certainty we say that in the future , more and more will be needed for raw materials ( biomass ) and this is the best solution for its production without affecting the existing forests to maintain their great value . Another advantage is that the Paulownias plantations generate substantial income, direct jobs and an implied increase.
